Read on to learn a bit more about the configuration of the darts board, the technique of throwing darts, and the different ways you can play darts.

Darts or dart-throwing is a competitive sport in which two or more players bare-handedly throw small sharp-pointed missiles known as darts at a round target known as a dartboard. Darts players are sometimes termed “dartists”.

Points can be scored by hitting specifically marked areas of the board, though unlike in sports such as archery, these areas are distributed all across the board and do not follow a principle of points increasing towards the center of the board.

Though a number of similar games using various boards and rules exist, the term “darts” usually now refers to a standardized game involving a specific board design and set of rules.

Darts is both a professional shooting sport and a traditional pub game. Darts are commonly played in the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, and Nigeria and recreationally enjoyed across the world.

Many games can be played on a dartboard, but the term “darts” generally refers to a game in which one player at a time throws three darts per turn. The throwing player must stand so that no portion of his/her feet extends past the leading edge of the oche, but may stand on any other portion and/or lean forward over it if desired.

2. Table Tennis

Table tennis is an Olympic sport which is played indoors – although it can be played outdoors as a recreational sport.

The origins of table tennis go back to the 1880s when game makers tried to emulate the popularity of Lawn Tennis by developing indoor versions of the game.

The game is played by two players (singles) or four players (doubles) who hit a 40mm diameter ball made of celluloid or plastic, back and forth over (or around) the net, using table tennis rackets made of wood covered with pimpled rubber.

The object of the game is to score 11 points before your opponent. If the score becomes tied at 10 points each, the first player or pair to establish a two-point lead will win.

A match consists of winning the best of any odd number of games – usually 3, 5, or 7 games.

Players hit the ball back and forth over the net and must only allow a ball played towards them to bounce once on their side of the table and must return it so that it bounces on the opposite side.

Points are scored when a player fails to return the ball in accordance with the rules of table tennis.

A point commences with a player serving in accordance with the official table tennis rules. Each player has two serves.

After every two points have been scored, the receiving player or pair becomes the serving player or pair, and so on until the end of the game, unless both players or pairs have scored 10 points. Get value from your money by getting table tennis set from our store.

Pool vs Snooker – What’s the Difference?

Many people confuse the two games or think that they are simply different names of the same game. The truth is, snooker and pool are two very different games.

Pool popular in the United States while Snooker is played more commonly in countries where Great Britain historically held colonial control.

This includes areas like Europe, Canada, and the Middle East. Here are the main differences between pool and snooker.

  • Snooker tables are larger (12’ x 6’) and taller than pool tables.
  • pockets are narrower.
  • Snooker balls are smaller, 2 1/8” in comparison to 2 ½” pool balls.
  • The cues are 10mm while pool cues are 14mm.

The Rules of Snooker

Snooker is played with 15 red, 6 colored, and 1 cue ball. The goal is to pot a red ball first followed by a colored ball then red then colored, and so on and so forth.

This red-colored sequence continues until all of the balls have been pocketed. If you fail to pocket the right ball, then it becomes the opposing player’s turn. Add up the points using the values listed below to find out who the winner is.

4. Basketball

Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly of five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular court, compete with the primary objective of shooting a basketball through the defender’s hoop while preventing the opposing team from shooting through their own hoop.

However, if you’re coaching younger players, these rules can be easily forgotten once they take the floor.

The three-second rule (which we’ll discuss later in this article) is just one of many great examples.

But before you can teach the rules to your team, you must know them yourself.

Basic Basketball Gameplay

The rules of basketball, thankfully, are fairly straightforward.

Two teams of five players each try to score by shooting a ball through a hoop elevated 10 feet above the ground.

The game is played on a rectangular floor called the court, and there is a hoop at each end. The court is divided into two main sections by the mid-court line.

If the offensive team puts the ball into play behind the mid-court line, it has ten seconds to get the ball over the mid-court line. If it doesn’t, then the defense gets the ball.

Once the offensive team gets the ball over the mid-court line, it can no longer have possession of the ball in the area behind the mid-court line. If it does, the defense is awarded the ball.

It can also be played by just two opponents with an adjustable basketball set.

This form of recreation and sport is popular among youths, in which a person rides standing balanced on a small board mounted on wheels.

Considered one of the so-called extreme sports, skateboarding as a professional sport boasts a range of competitions, including vertical and street-style events.

Vertical skating features aerial acrobatics performed in half-pipes that were originally built to emulate empty swimming pools.

Street style features tricks performed in a real or simulated urban environment with stairs, rails, ledges, and other obstacles.

Skateboarding has developed as a youth subculture that emphasizes creativity and individuality. It is an alternative to mainstream team sports, which are more formally organized and largely controlled by adults.

Most skateboards are about 32 inches (81 cm) long and 9 inches (23 cm) wide. A skateboard comprises three major parts:

  • the deck (the board upon which the rider stands),
  • the trucks (the construction that attaches the wheels to the deck)
  • wheels.

Originally, decks were made of wood, but later they were also made of aluminum, fiberglass, and plastic. The rear part of the deck is bent upward to form the kicktail, as is the front (“nose”) on modern designs.

The truck includes an axle, a hangar, and a cushion that both absorbs shocks and provides flexibility for steering. The wheels are made of tough polyurethane plastic.
